According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.mit.edu\/2016\/how-ride-sharing-can-improve-traffic-save-money-and-help-environment-0104\">study<\/a> by MIT, ride-sharing services have the potential to significantly reduce traffic congestion, pollution, and energy consumption. MIT researchers discovered that a fleet of 3,000 four-passenger cars could replace 13,000 yellow cabs in New York City, cutting the number of vehicles on the road by 75% and improving travel efficiency.
